What inspired you to start your own blog?

I was studying Fashion Design, and had a jewelry business on Etsy, so it was a great outlet to showcase my work and inspirations.

How important is the name of the blog?

The name you choose is the tiniest form of advertising; it sets the tone and lets people know what to expect.

How difficult is it to find a blog niche?

The things you choose to talk about and your overall content automatically determine the circle you belong to. I feel like it comes organically.

What is the best way to promote and grow your blog?

Social media play a major role in promoting your blog or business, but it shouldn’t be all about that. Study your audience, and try to think where they would hang out both online and offline. I am a romantic and like to think that word of mouth and printed publications can still be a powerful tool in promoting your online presence. Find your niche, and pitch ideas to relevant media outlets. As for online, I suggest you pick your favorite channels; and I say favorite and not everything, as you want this to be something fun and genuine, and not seem like you ticked another to do on your list. It can be overwhelming to juggle multiple social media channels at once, especially when you first start your blog. Another good promotional tool is guest posting on similar blogs or websites – it’s a win win as you both expose each other to your audiences.

What is your main audience, and how did you reach out to them?

Well, at first it was just my parents, so a phone call and a Skype session would do! My lovely audience consists of fun, young and sassy girls – and a few boys, too! I like chatting on Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat, but I love emailing with them all. I sincerely enjoy connecting with like-minded individuals, and I’m very happy that my blog allows me to do so. If you are reading this, do drop me an email, and tell me if you like avocados.

How important is it for your business to attend fashion week?

I think it depends on the blog. If it’s something that fits with your theme, then it definitely is important. Attending shows certainly gives you credibility and an in-the-know air, not to mention exposure. I love discovering new talent. This is how fell in love with the fashion industry, and what sparks my interest – the new and the unknown. I am looking into ways to work closer with emerging talent.

What are the best tips for building long-term relationships and partnerships with brands?

Deliver what was agreed on time; keep in touch, don’t just email with requests; make sure you are a good match.

What is the biggest challenge about running a blog?

For me personally, it’s balancing everything and finding time. I work full time as the PR Coordinator for Monsoon Accessorize, I have my blog which I update three times a week, and me and my family have recently relaunched our knitwear brand . Also, I love cooking with my little brother, exercising and spending lots of time glued on to my love, so I have to be organized to make everything work!

What advice would you give to anyone looking to start a blog today?

It’s a bit corny, but in today’s world where literally everyone has a blog, the only way to separate yourself from the crowd is to have your own unique voice.

What are your ultimate plans for your blog/blogging career?

I am very thankful for all of the collaborations I have had the pleasure to work on to this day, and looking forward to new and exciting projects! My dream would be to be able to shoot editorials and campaigns with brands and designers I love, and build a community of like minded individuals.
