TETE-A-TETE 02: ELENA KARAVASILI

Greek-born handbag designer Elena Karavasili has already built an impressive resume and portfolio at the age of 23. She attended Parsons School of Design and London College of Fashion; she gained valuable working experience in various fields – from print design to styling and visual merchandizing – interning for Donna Karan, John Varvatos, Alice + Olivia and Glamour; and she is currently putting together her second collection. Her first collection “Solid Connection” launched in the beginning of 2015 was highly complimented, and got the fashion press excited. Most recently, she took part in a charity project launched by Creaid, designing a tote bag that went in auction to help raise money for “Médecins du Monde.”

We caught up with Elena right before she left for London to work on her upcoming collection. In the second installment of Tête-à-Tête, we discuss breaking into fashion and the challenges of building and managing a fashion company.
