DVF AT TOKYO FASHION WEEK

On the fourth day of Tokyo Fashion Week (i.e. last Tuesday), the city welcomed a special guest star, who’s no other than Diane von Furstenberg. Diane showcased her Fall/Winter 2014-2015 collection, which was actually a recap of her fall collection as showcased in New York Fashion Week in February.

Known for the elegant lines embracing gracefully the female body, the designer presented a series of printed and monochromatic outfits in warm autumn and darker winter tones, perusing the golden embellishments. The wrap dress, presented in a variety of versions, was the show’s undoubted highlight. Though the house has been celebrating the 40th anniversary of this iconic piece since the beginning of the year, Von Furstenberg admitted that “for the first time ever, I guess I’m actually impressed by it 40 years later.”

Diane matched most of the runway looks with all-day handle tote bags and large satchels, and, finished the evening looks with printed clutches.

The show ended with a thrilling finale of gold gowns and confetti.
